Tim and I were incoming Wheaton College students in the Class of 2019. We met during a wilderness orientation for freshmen, in which he stopped an entire ultimate Frisbee game because he clocked one of my cabin-mates in the head with a frisbee. I remember liking him then, but it faded because I didn't see him much. After three years of being in symphony orchestra together, we ended up deciding to go to the same theology conference in Orlando over spring break, and carpooled with another friend. Those 18 hours in the car did it. We talked about everything under the sun, and the more I listened to Tim share his perspectives (graciously, but passionately!) and watched him live life in that week, the more I fell in love. I remember I had initially wanted to set him up with my sister since she was going to attend the same conference that week and because he was such a great guy, but over the course of that week I realized, "No, this one is for me." Soon after we returned to campus, Tim asked me on our first date. From there, we started dating officially (on the way back from a chaplain's banquet), and it has been a whirlwind ever since! There has never been a dull moment - there have been really, really good times and really, really bad times. The LORD has been faithful to us both through them all, and has worked out his perfect will in both of us. He is the Author of our love story, and it is a beautiful one. I cannot wait to see what happens in the next chapter, and I am learning to trust our Author's timing, goodness, and mysterious power at work in both our lives. He is not tame, but he is good.
