Emily met a girl at a party in 2018, and as she was walking out, her cousin said, “I don’t think that girl likes you.” Luckily, that prediction was wrong. Less than a year later, Emily had won her over with a shared love of music, skiing, the outdoors, and, of course, dogs. That girl was Jasmine. Since then, we’ve built a beautiful life rooted in shared hobbies and a love of trying new things together. We’ve taken so many memorable trips (we’re experts at jam-packed weekends) and have skied at more than 10 resorts since we’ve been together. When we first started dating, it would have been hard to imagine Jasmine at a jam band show, but now we’ve been to several, and we’re both the ones who can never sit down at festivals. Emily is always brainstorming new projects for us to tackle, while Jasmine has a talent for bringing them across the finish line once Emily’s ADHD has moved on to the next idea. We’ve also built our life around the comfort (and strong opinions) of our two little chihuahua mixes, Clementine and Ollie. In the end, we work so well together because we love the same things, but each of us brings something different to the dynamic. We got married last year in a small, intimate ceremony, but it was always important to us to celebrate with the people who have supported and loved us throughout this journey.
