Ted and I fell in love at Sheffield Court, our apartment complex at the time. We lived one floor apart and met over tequila shots with my mom. Later, I was carrying in groceries ("in a beautiful, blue dress," according to Ted) when I ran into him by the pool. He asked me to join him and I thought, "why not?" We spent the rest of the evening hanging out with new friends and talking about blink-182 until early in the morning. - Em

Em surprised me with a trip to Iceland for my 30th birthday. In late April, we landed in Iceland at 3 AM our time—to say we were sleepy is an understatement. We rallied and stopped at the Blue Lagoon and toured Reykjavik. After a wonderful dinner, we walked down to the water as the sun was setting (it was almost 11 PM). I asked someone to take our photo and when they did, I got down on one knee and asked my best friend to marry me. She said yes and we spent the rest of the trip celebrating our engagement and starting our next adventure. - Ted
