Question

Are children welcome?

Answer

While we love your children very much, our wedding will be an adults-only celebration. Unless specifically indicated on your invitation, we kindly ask that you make arrangements for a child-free evening. We appreciate your understanding and can’t wait to celebrate with you!

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

The dress code for our wedding is Formal Attire. Women are invited to wear floor-length gown or elevated mid-length cocktail dress. Men are encouraged to wear a tuxedo or a dark suit and tie.

Do you have hotel room blocks for guests?

Answer

Yes! Shuttle transportation will be provided for guests staying at either of our hotel blocks. Shuttles will pick up guests from the hotels and take them to the ceremony. After the ceremony, they will transport guests to the Marriott Capitol District for a brief break before heading to the reception. At the end of the night, shuttles will make multiple trips to return guests to their hotels. See "Wedding Shuttle Schedule" tab closer to our wedding date.

Will transportation on the wedding day be provided for guests?

Answer

Yes! Shuttle transportation will be provided for guests staying at either of our hotel blocks. Shuttles will pick up guests from their hotels and take them to the ceremony. After the ceremony, the shuttles will take guests to the Marriott Capital District for a brief intermission before cocktail hour/reception. The shuttle will then transport guests to the reception site. Lastly, at the end of the night, we will have shuttles make a few trips to take guests back to the hotels. Question

What should we do during the gap in between the wedding ceremony and the cocktail hour?

Answer

Feel free to spend this time however you'd like! A shuttle will be available to transport guests from the ceremony (St. John’s) back to the Marriott Capitol District Downtown. During the 1 hour break, you can return to your hotel room to freshen up, relax with a drink at the hotel bar, or explore one of the nearby bars/restaurants—check out the "Things to Do" tab on our website for recommendations. The shuttle will depart for the reception promptly at 4:30 pm.

Will the wedding events be inside or outside?

Answer

The ceremony and reception will be inside. However, weather permitting, cocktail hour will be held outside on the lawn at Happy Hollow Country Club.

Is there parking at the ceremony and reception sites?

Answer

Yes; parking is available at either location. However, if you are staying at either of the hotel blocks, we recommend utilizing the transportation provided. Please check back for details on shuttle schedule.

Will there be any vegan/vegetarian/gluten free/special diet options?

Answer

Yes! We will have vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options available. If you have any dietary restrictions, please be sure to indicate them when you RSVP, either by mail or online.

Is there an after party?

Answer

There won’t be an official after-party, but for those who want to keep the celebration going, the shuttles will be making a final stop at a local spot near the hotel downtown. The exact location will be decided closer to the wedding date—stay tuned!
