How We Met

4/1/14

"We met during our Disney College program through mutual friends. At first, we were hanging out with a group and going into the parks together. One day the group wasn't able to all go together so Emily and I continued going on Wednesdays since we shared the same days off together. One of the days we were in the park, we happened to go on the many adventures of Winnie the Pooh ride because it had a short wait time. Once on, we were greeted with "Happy Winds-day." We both looked at each other and laughed because we hadn't made the connection before, and from that day forward it became our thing to do when we went into the park. After quite a few times of spending time in the parks together, Emily and I started dating on May 5th, 2014... which happened to be one of our regular park days and ironically enough, Cinco De Mayo." - David

The Proposal

12/5/18

"We went away for the weekend to Palm Springs for a much-needed getaway. Had a spa appointment and plans to take the aerial tram to the top of Mt. San Jacinto. I had planned for my cousin Julie to meet up with us. Emily was under the impression that Julie was there to scout out a new location for a film project. As we got in the tram car and climbed the mountain it got colder and more cloudy. There was a chance of snow during the day from what we had been told, and that is what we were hoping for. We had visited the year prior but missed the snow by a few days. As we started walking down to the valley floor, the snow was just lightly starting to fall. Our walk to the desert overlook continued and the snow continued to fall a little faster, almost pelting us in the face as we went. When we got to the overlook, we couldn't see anything because of the cloud cover. We took a moment to reflect on everything that had happened during our time together and then I asked her if there was anything that she would want to change. She said she couldn't think of anything. I asked her if she was sure, she again said she couldn't think of anything. I told her that I could think of one thing that I would want to change, and that is when I got down on one knee and proposed to her." - David
