We're getting married! #TRUEsLove

Zane and I both went to Ohio State University and happened to live in the same dorm freshman year: Siebert! We both knew who the other was because of the social media app GroupMe where incoming freshmen introduced themselves. Zane and I both moved into the dorm early along with a few other freshmen. Someone decided that those who were there already should meet up in the basement of the dorm to hang out. I went downstairs and saw a guy sitting on one of the couches looking down at his phone and recognized him as Zane. I went up to him and said "OMG, you're Zane from the GroupMe!" and he looked up at me and said "Oh yeah, Emily right?" I was immediately drawn to Zane, thought he was super cute, and knew he was going to be someone special in my life. I made the first move by asking him to see a movie. We pinky promised that we'd be best friends for all of freshman year. Turns out we get to be best friends forever.

On November 11th, 2017 freshman year of college, we decided we were officially more than best friends.

After a little over 5 years together, Zane decided he was ready to pop the question. We were in Columbus visiting his family for Christmas. A few days after the holiday, we were trying to figure out how to spend our day. We got coffee and breakfast and Zane pointed out how we were near our freshman year dorm. I suggested we stop by since we haven't been there in years. Luckily for Zane, this was his plan all along. We parked somewhere and started walking to Siebert. It was winter break so there were no students around, just us. We stood in front of the dorm, and we were both feeling extremely nostalgic. Zane said we should come back to the place it all begin for many years to come and then got down on one knee and asked me to marry him with the most beautiful ring. Afterwards, we walked around the empty campus with all the beautiful snow on the ground, gushing about how we're going to be married. It was absolutely perfect.
