It all started with a prank call and a softball. In March of 2016, Wyatt thought it’d be funny to prank call Emily’s friend. After Emily scared him straight by pretending to be an angry parent, the two realized they were a match made in heaven. On April 27, 2016, almost exactly ten years before their wedding day, Wyatt left a softball in Emily’s locker that read, “I might strike out, but would you be my girlfriend?” Romantic, right? In true Emily fashion, she jokingly said no at first (keeping the prank alive), but of course, the answer quickly turned into yes. The years that followed were filled with milestones—high school dances, date-nights reading all 27 amendments to the US Constitution (iykyk), moving on to college, new jobs, and chiropractic school. Through every challenge and every celebration, Emily and Wyatt grew together as best friends and closest companions. After years of pretending to propose, Wyatt got down on one knee for real and popped the question on November 27, 2024. The ring is beautiful and Emily WILL send pictures of it if you ask. What started as a teenage prank turned into nearly a decade of love, laughter, and partnership.
