March 2020 is a month that many of us remember when the Covid-19 pandemic became “real.” Grocery store aisles were empty. Students began virtual learning. Some of us began working from home, while those in healthcare, hospitality, and other professions bravely faced the frontlines of the virus. And then of course there was the Great Toilet Paper Shortage. While this turmoil seemed like an unlikely time to find love, such was the Lord’s plan for Emily and William. They met as Emily moved to Memphis while William was living and working in Oxford. Their first date in the Grove, complete with a Taylor Grocery catfish picnic and Snackbar to-go cocktails, soon blossomed into something more. Weeknight calls and split weekends between Memphis and Oxford later led to a May 23, 2021 engagement at the Wasson family tree farm deep in the woods of Kosciusko, MS. William proposed next to The Big Pine (a Wasson tree icon) with Emily's late Granny’s original engagement diamond (acquired the previous week from Emily’s mother in a fun exchange at the local Waffle House in Winona, MS). Emily and William cannot wait to share their day of holy matrimony together with friends and loved ones this summer. July 16, 2022 can’t get here soon enough!
