We met in a mutual friend's dorm room before classes had started for the new school year in August 2015. We were initially introduced to each other because we were both Biology majors, but found ourselves spending the rest of the night ignoring everyone else in favor of talking with each other. We talked and hung out as friends for exactly a month before I gathered the courage to confess that I liked Will while waiting for a bus together. We were officially a couple by the time we got onto the bus.

We were at a little beachside town on Lake Michigan, standing on a balcony that looked over the water after dinner. Will led us to the spot, claiming to want to take pictures of birds, then choose to propose instead. It was a total surprise to me, being led to believe the proposal would happen 2 weeks later on a camping trip. I quickly said yes, although we both were so caught up in the moment that neither of us could remember what Will had even said later on.
