Our StoryOur Story

Sometimes, the best things in life take a little time. We’ve both lived full lives, had our share of stories and seasons. From the very beginning, something felt different. Christmas 2024 was a pivotal moment together, surrounded by friends and family. There’s something about the holidays that brings everything into focus—and in that warm, joyful season, it became clear just how perfectly we fit. We connected in a way neither of us had ever experienced before: it was easy, natural, and deeply real. Like we’d finally come home to someone who saw us, understood us, and matched us in all the ways we’d been quietly hoping for —and every day, we’re still in awe of how lucky we are to have found one another. This love feels rare, sacred, and deeply right. And now, we can’t wait to begin this next chapter—together.

Who is the Bride?Who is the Bride?

Hi, I’m Emily! I am a southern girl who was born and raised right here in Birmingham, Alabama, in a loving, church-going home with my parents, Kelly and Charlie, and my two sisters. I’m the middle child, and yes— I pretty much live up to that stereotype, but only the good parts lol. Growing up, I had a nickname of being the busy bee involved in just about everything possible. I was all about performing — dance, cheerleading, and show choir—but I also loved math (nerdy, I know). I went on to Auburn University, where I eventually convinced my whole family to become Auburn fans - we now bleed orange and blue, even my Dad, a former Alabama fan! Having a deep desire to challenge myself, I studied Industrial and Systems Engineering, eventually graduating cum laude. After college, I started my career at KPMG in Atlanta, but eventually felt the tug on my heart to come home to Birmingham. My focus over the last decade has been professional growth — I feel truly lucky to have had such wonderful opportunities as a young professional to flourish as I am now a Senior Vice President in Technology and Data Risk Management at Regions Bank. When I’m not working, you can usually find me with family or friends, either in Birmingham or relaxing at Lake Martin. I love trying new things, exploring restaurants around town, spending time outside kayaking or hiking, and tackling creative projects like interior decorating and vacation planning. Giving back to the community and continuing my faith journey as a Christian are also very important to me as I serve on several non-profit boards and attend Highlands United Methodist where we plan to get married. Life is busy, but it’s full, and I wouldn’t have it any other way (although coffee and color-coded calendars definitely help!).

Who is the Groom?Who is the Groom?

Hi, I’m Tyler! I grew up in a military family with my parents, Julie and Bo Stewart, and my twin (yes, we’re fraternal—and yes, we’re complete opposites). Because of my dad’s career, we moved around quite a bit, living in places from Virginia to Pensacola before finally settling in Daphne, Alabama, where I spent my high school years. Growing up, I loved playing sports, but it wasn’t until college at the University of Alabama that I really came into my own, building lifelong friendships through my fraternity and making memories I’ll never forget. At Alabama, I majored in Finance and, like most Bama grads, also minored in… let’s just say “social studies” (aka a very healthy dose of college fun). In the middle of college, I stepped away for a semester to care for my grandfather in his last days—an experience I’ll always cherish and that really reflects how important family is to me. After graduation, I spent a lot of time in Finchburg, Alabama helping preserve our family farm which had been in the family for nearly 200 years. It was a season full of long hours, sweat, and hard work, but also something that shaped who I am. Eventually, I moved to Birmingham where I began my career in banking as a teller and worked my way up to creating and managing FirstBank’s Construction Loan Management Department - a role I’m incredibly proud of. Outside of work, you’ll most likely find me outdoors—hunting, caring for the cows and the land on the farm, or spending time with family. Like Emily, I’m also active in the community through Sunrise Rotary and by volunteering with local nonprofits like First Light. Emily and I also just joined a home church together - Highlands United Methodist - where we plan to continue growing in our faith in anticipation of this next chapter in life. Life is busy and full, but I wouldn’t have it any other way (though a day at the farm with the cows is hard to beat!).
