Wedding Party

Ty Schoelerman

Groom

Ty grew up on a 4th-generation farm in Northwest Iowa, where he developed his deep passion for agriculture caring for the family’s feedlot, row crops, and Suffolk, Southdown, and Babydoll sheep flocks. He earned his Bachelor’s degree from South Dakota State University and is currently pursuing his DVM at Iowa State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine. When he’s not acing exams, you’ll find him “studying”. Nonetheless, Ty is on track to graduate May 2026 as a 3rd generation Veterinarian. He’s always the first to offer a helping hand, a quick joke, or an extra serving of mashed potatoes. Emily is lucky to marry him—but if you ask Ty, he’ll tell you he’s the real winner here.

Emily Nold

Bride

Still waiting on Ty to write this one... In the meantime, Emily grew up in South Dakota active in 4H and FFA showing sheep & horses and competing in shooting sports. Emily attended South Dakota State University to earn her Bachelors Degree, and was active around campus on judging teams, Little International, and trying to live up to Dr. Nold’s expectations. After graduating in 2023, she embarked on an exciting adventure to the United Kingdom to work with an animal breeding company for a season. These days, she’s back in the Midwest as a graduate student at Iowa State University, studying reproductive physiology.

Samantha Thyen

Maid of Honor

A friend of the couple, Sam was one of Emily's roommates. All too similar in their life walks for a time, Sam and Emily spent many of nights sitting on the kitchen discussing the pros and cons to every simple decision ever made.

Zach Heikens

Groomsman

A friend of the couple that was Ty’s undergrad roommate. Ty and Zach spent many mornings listening to 570WNAX while recalling the previous nights events. P.S. ladies Zach can make a mean omelet

Lindsey VanderWal

Bridesmaid

A friend of the couple, Lindsey was one of Emily's college roommates. Lindsey claims she knew we were going to get married before we did, as we often took on our college years as a trio.

Zach Schoelerman

Groomsman

Ty's younger brother and right hand man when he needs help getting a job done. Growing up Ty and Zach spent countless hours working together around the farm. These days you will find the two of them terrorizing the trailer park they live at in Ames.

Kendal Green

Bridesmaid

A friend of the couple, Kendal was a one of Emily's college roommates. Whether Kendal is talking with Ty about the most recent cattle news or cheering Emily on, she has taught us both to loosen up and embrace life in all of its seasons.

Ethan Varilek

Groomsman

A friend of the couple and one of Ty’s undergrad study partners where they spent more time talking about livestock than studying.

Mary Nold

Bridesmaid

Emily's older sister, Mary and Emily's stories range from playing in the mud one too many times, to cockle burs “games”, to competing nationally in shooting sports together. Kind and compassionate, growing up she set a precedence of excellence that pushed Emily to always work harder than the next person. In the real world now, Mary’s faith (and cooking abilities) is an inspiration.

Chance Grill

Groomsman

A friend of the couple, Chance and Ty spent many nights “studying for a quiz” while sitting at the bar Chance had built in his basement...they didn't learn much until Emily showed up though.

Josie Nold

Bridesmaid

Emily's younger sister, Josie has gone above and beyond in her countless activities (4H, FFA, Rodeo Queening, Shooting Sports, and whatever else I have not been informed about). Josie will graduate High School May 2025 and will continue on in her schooling.

Clay Wempe

Groomsman

A friend of the couple, Ty and Clay have been friends since high school that spent their time going out for lunch during Mr. Holts class or stopping at Carroll’s bakery before school.
