We're Getting Married!

Although there's been debate about exactly what event marked the initial meeting of Trent and Emily, we ultimately agreed that we met at The Ohio State Theatre Department's fall auditions. Trent was talking to Andrew (who Emily did not know, but who is now a bridesman in the wedding) and Emily thought Trent was cute, so she joined in. We were smitten from that moment on and only waited 3 whole years to admit it.

After graduating from Ohio State, we found ourselves with a free summer. We began spending more and more time together, but were terrified to admit we might want to be more than just friends (We were young and stupid). We took trips to the zoo, Cedar Point, and once watched 7 movies in one day together....super platonic...Eventually, we could deny it no longer. After Trent visited Emily in Wooster for an evening of movie watching, taking her little brother out for ice cream, and eating dinner with the Kacsandi's, (again, super platonic) Trent asked Emily to be his girlfriend. (Technically, he told Emily she was his girlfriend and Emily was very much on board with it).

While Emily's brother Nick and his family were in town, the Kacsandi's convened in Wooster at Emily's parent's house. That house, specifically the backyard, is Emily's favorite place in the world. After a family filled day, the gang went to the backyard to sit around a bonfire and watch the sunset. Trent pulled Emily aside, away from the group, walked her over to a beautiful spot in the yard with a view of the sunset and got down on one knee. Emily immediately walked away and cried. She eventually came back and we got engaged and everyone cheered. It was a beautiful night.
