We had no idea that our lives would change forever in September 2011 in the basement of a fraternity party at Temple University. It was when Tom was asking girls to dance and pretending to be unfazed by rejections when Emily and her friends, Marissa and Nicole, laughed WITH Tom instead of AT him. Then once the party was beat, the four of us shared beers on Liacouras Walk afterward. As Marissa likes to tell the story, it was then that we knew Tom would be our best friend forever. We remained best friends through our time in college and even after when our lives took us down various roads and paths. We stayed in touch through Tom's time in Colorado and celebrated via FaceTime when he decided to move back to Pennsylvania. In January 2023, Tom, still being somewhat unfazed by rejections, asked Emily on our first date for coffee in Rittenhouse Square. We dated and moved in together in the Roxborough area of Philadelphia in 2024. After a year of living with our best (furry) buds, Easton and Harold, Tom proposed on a cold January evening on Main Street in Manayunk - almost two years to the day of us beginning to date. In our relationship, our friendship grounds us and our love lifts us on a daily basis. ....and this all feels like just the beginning!
