THE BEGINNING

Where to begin.... Todd and I met when we were in high school. We had mutual friends so we ran into each other from time to time. We ended up trying to start a relationship and it didn't work out so we ended up dating other people. I ended up dating his friend and he was dating mine. I thought that was the end of the story for Todd and I. A couple years had past and I was graduating high school just starting my freshman year of college. Todd and I ended up reconnecting at a party on July 4th, 2013, and decided to give it another shot. It was a sticky situation and I never really saw it coming but we ended up clicking. I was unsure if the timing was right because Todd lived 2 hours away in Marietta, OH while he went to college. We ended up talked for about 5-6 months before we actually made it official. The long distance was going to be hard and we knew we had to test the water before diving in. On Decemeber 27, 2013, he asked me to be his girlfriend. We had a nice date at Olive Garden (our go to place). When we were done, I walked to the car to go home and there inside were roses and a note inside asking me to be his girlfriend. From that moment on, it was quite a difficult relationship seeing we did long distance. There was a lot of traveling and not much time spent together. We didn't get to experience things like most couple do. We didn't get to grow as a couple and be a part of each others daily lives. We had to sacrifice a lot and really work at this. But.... I can say, it was all worth it.

THE PROPOSAL

Four years later, we went to our favorite restaurant, Gervasi. We had went there every year for our anniversary. After every meal, they always brought out amazing gelato that had "Happy Anniversary" written in chocolate syrup on the plate. December 26th, 2017, I didn't think anything would be different. I always looked forward to getting dressed up, enjoying yummy food and wine, recieving our routine anniversary dessert, and celebrating another year with this amazing man. Towards the end of dinner, Todd gave me a card to read. On the front, it said "Mr. & Mrs". I thought it was just a silly joke. Inside it read "All this time we have been counting up, now it is time to count down......" Well, as I was reading the card, Todd got down on one knee and proposed in front of everyone with my DREAM RING. His cousin Christy was there capturing the whole thing taking pictures so we could remember this moment. Gervasi then brought out our famous anniversary dessert with "Mr. and Mrs. Sabol" written on the plate with chocolate syrup. While I was in still in shock and crying my eyes out, Todd had our whole family waiting for us down the street at the winery waiting for us to celebrate. There was so much love and happiness to celebrate our engagement.and I wish I could relive that day over and over. It was the most beautiful, amazing day of my life and I can't wait make this man my husband.
