Yes, the ceremony and reception will both take place on the Devil’s Thumb Ranch property, so once you arrive, you should be set for the evening.
If you're staying on site at Devil's Thumb, all events are walkable. For those staying off site, we will be arranging transportation on Saturday to and from the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Fraser and Devil’s Thumb. More details will be provided to guests not staying on site closer to the date. No transportation will be provided for Friday’s welcome event.
Due to limited space, we are only able to accommodate those guests formally invited on your wedding invitation. If you received a plus one, this will be indicated on your invitation. While we love all of the children in our lives, we have decided to keep our wedding and reception primarily an adults-only event. If you plan to travel with children, please reach out to Devil's Thumb Ranch for local childcare recommendations, if needed.
Weather permitting, Friday’s welcome dinner and Saturday’s ceremony and cocktail hour will be outdoors, so please plan accordingly for mountain weather (see below).
In July, Devil’s Thumb Ranch has daytime highs around 75-85 F (25-30 C). Mornings and evenings are meaningfully cooler and can drop into the 40s F (5 C), so be sure to bring layers. The Rockies are known for brief afternoon showers, but they usually pass quickly.
Devil's Thumb Ranch is at an altitude of 8,500 ft. Oxygen canisters will be available for guests at Devil's Thumb Ranch, and there are various medications that can be prescribed and/or purchased prior to your trip to help minimize altitude sickness. Please also note that the high altitude can increase the effects of alcohol consumption, so be sure to drink plenty of water as well throughout the night.
Not an FAQ, just a reminder to drink lots of water to avoid altitude sickness throughout your stay. Also be sure to apply plenty of sunscreen.
The planned meals will be buffet / family-style and have gluten, nut and meat / fish-free options. If there are any other restrictions (e.g., vegan), please let us know when you RSVP.
