This is the same weekend as Cattleman Days (the longest continuously running rodeo in Colorado) so we would recommend booking lodging sooner rather than later as the town gets pretty busy during this weekend.

Gunnison, Almont (10 min away), Crested Butte (30 min away)
Denver or Gunnison are your best options for flying.
Denver is about a 4 hour drive to Gunnison and will offer a lot more flight options.
Gunnison has a small airport but definitely worth looking at the options for the convenience.
