Yes!* *We got married in a small, intimate ceremony on February 12th, 2022, but also dreamed of having a big fancy bash where we could celebrate with all of our friends and family. Our New Year's Eve wedding will have a short program where we exchange vows and hear a few words from our family and friends, but the majority of the evening will be eating, drinking, and lots of dancing!
We have a tradition of going to see our favorite band (White Ford Bronco) together every year on New Year's Eve, and even when we were on opposite sides of the country, it was the one night we absolutely knew we would be together. So many of our friends have come to those shows with us throughout the years, and when we realized that NYE was on a Saturday night of a 3-day-weekend this year, we knew it had to be our date.
As we are classy people having a classy celebration on the classiest day of the year, the wedding attire will be black-tie encouraged. Break out your tuxes, find a fancy ballgown, and get ready to party into the early hours of the morning! (We're picturing tuxes, dark suits, or full-length gowns. The more sequins, the better!)
Not necessarily! All of the wedding events are in Denver, walking distance from all three of the hotels. If you want to visit the mountains or get out of the city, we recommend renting a car.
We find that Uber and Lyft are usually the easiest and quickest option to get downtown, with non-surge pricing usually around $45-50. If you're a public transit enthusiast, there's also a train that runs from the airport to Union Station, which is about a 9 block/20 minute walk from the Four Seasons (and a little bit further to our other blocked hotels). More information on the airport train here: https://www.rtd-denver.com/services/airport
It's Denver, so we have no idea! There's a chance that it could be 65° and sunny, and there's a chance that we could get 6 inches of snow. Typically accumulating snowfall happens later on in the winter, but be prepared for anything and check the weather a week or two before leaving. If you're planning on an extended visit to Colorado, know the weather and temperatures in the mountains are much more wintry than in Denver.
While we love your little ones, our wedding is going to be an adults-only event. We're sure their grandparents would love some extra quality time with them this holiday season. Call them now and book your hotel downtown so you can have a big night out on the town with us! If you need help finding childcare in Denver, please let us know.
Yes! It's New Year's Eve, you'll be out late (drinking), and Ubers will be crazy expensive. It will probably be cheaper just to stay downtown. See our 'Travel' page for discounted hotel block options.
It's probably the altitude--make sure that you drink plenty of water before and during your stay, and don't over exert yourself when you first get into town. If you stay hydrated, it will help you avoid any symptoms of altitude sickness. Don't forget to bring chapstick and hand lotion--Denver is very dry.
First off, if you're planning on drinking at the wedding and are going home at the end of the evening, please don't drive yourself. Our hotel blocks have some great options that will probably be cheaper than an Uber, so consider staying downtown. If you need to park a car, the Four Seasons has both temporary and overnight parking, with the following rates: 0 – 4 Hours: $20 4 – 8 Hours: $28 8 Hours + Overnight Parking: $55
