Ferry Information

The most common and cost-effective way to get to San Juan Island is to drive to Anacortes, Washington, and take a Washington State Ferry. You can either drive or walk onto the ferry. FOR THOSE BRINGING A CAR TO ROCHE HARBOR: It is crucial to book your ferry reservation to/from the island ahead of time. We cannot stress this point enough - drivers must book your ferry reservation in advance! Anacortes is a ~2-hour drive from SeaTac airport. Kindly note that the ferry will require you to be in line for your boat 1 hour in advance. The ferry ride to San Juan Island is a beautiful 60-minute trip! FOR THOSE NOT DRIVING: If you do not plan on driving or renting a car, you may purchase a walk-on ferry ticket! There is a bus via the Bellair Charters & Shuttles that will take you directly from SeaTac Airport to the Anacortes ferry terminal. Should you plan to drive to the port, there is a $5/day long-term parking lot. Ticket reservations are valid for 90 days, so you can purchase tickets starting on July 14, 2024. Seaplane Information

An alternative option to get to San Juan Island is to fly directly to Roche Harbor Resort from South Lake Union via Kenmore Air (or charter a flight via San Juan Air.) It is a gorgeous & quick flight! Kenmore Air seaplanes fly from downtown Seattle directly into Roche Harbor in about an hour. Roundtrip tickets typically cost ~$300 per person. You can also relatively reasonably charter a plane with a small group.
