We're Getting Married!

Before our first date, we were adamant that it was NOT a date! Just two friends meeting up to go on a picnic. After Emily spent a lot of time figuring out what she was going to wear, and Robert put on his best cologne, we realized that it was very much a date. So we set out to meet at the city park in Commerce. Both of us being very nervous and punctual, we each arrived 30 minutes early, at 11:30 instead of 12. We still aren't sure how we survived in the heat or sun for as long as we did, as each time we try to recreate it on our anniversary, we give up extremely quickly. However, in 2020, we managed to sit in that park for a solid 10 hours! Did we touch any of the food Emily prepared and packed? No. But we did eat the entire fruit tray from Walmart. So what did we do instead of eating until 10 pm? Talk. We talked for so long it was hard to remember that this was our first time actually sitting down together since we met. At the end of the night, when we realized that the park actually closed at 10 pm, Robert gave Emily a hug, and she spent the entire ride home thinking about the smell of that cologne. To this day, she still prefers it when he wears that cologne on any of their dates.
