Sol Food was our first date on July 24th 2014. We'd say it was our first (real) date, once the groom had a car (haha!). At the time there was only 1 location in Mill Valley but now there's an awesome location in downtown Petaluma. We'd recommend the Sandwich Bistec, Veggie Delux and Pollo al Horno.
Hot take - best sushi in the U.S. You won't regret it. Richard worked here his last year of college and fell more in love with sushi (if that's even possible) and it's a must when the Mitts's are in town. You'll need a reservation!
One of our favorite restaurants for classic Italian. So many celebrations have been had here from birthdays to Emily's 8th grade promotion and high school graduation and even Richards college graduation. Every dish is perfection. You'll need a reservation!
Lagunitas is a must. It's become a bit more upscale from the days we'd find ourselves in around-the-world beer races (our SSU friends will know the vibe we're talking about)...but you can count on solid beer and good food.
This is our go-to spot for live music, fun outdoor vibes and good drinks. Its a fun spot and great for groups & families. Best to make a reservation if you can!
Anaba has really great wines and an awesome vibe! You can order small plates to go along with your tasting while enjoying their grounds. Its a perfect spot between Petaluma and Sonoma, a quick drive from either town.
Roche Winery has two locations, one right on Sonoma Square and one right next to Anaba right between Petaluma and Sonoma. The location on the square is a tasting room while the one on Bonness Road is more of a vineyard feel. If you're feeling zesty head here and end with a snack plate and a glass (or 2) at Anaba.
The bride is a bubbles girl. Bubbles and French fries is her go to order. Gloria Ferrer has some really nice sparkling wines and beautiful views of Sonoma County. Make a reservation for an outside table and a tasting!
If you're staying in Sonoma this spot is fantastic for breakfast. It's steps away from our venue and right on the square. It's walk up and order but don't be turned off by the line, it goes fast!
