Emily and Peter’s love story began in Malibu, as they finished their undergraduate studies at Pepperdine University. Though they grew up just across the Long Island Sound from each other—Peter on Long Island and Emily in Connecticut—it took a move across the country for their paths to finally cross. What started as a spark between two college students quickly grew into something deep and lasting—shaped by a shared sense of excitement, countless date nights trying new restaurants, spontaneous adventures around Southern California, and a love of building a life together (with their three cats of course). When they met, Emily was working as a nanny for two incredible little boys, Alex and William. Many of their earliest memories as a couple were made while spending time with the boys and their dads—sharing dinners, outings, and movie nights. That home quickly became a special place in their story, and years later, it will host their wedding reception. Alex and William will also be walking down the aisle as their ring bearers—a full-circle moment years in the making. A few years later, Peter proposed in the most unforgettable way: on the ice skating rink at the Hotel del Coronado, just before Christmas. He secretly took skating lessons, hired a photographer, and had Emily’s friends bring her to the rink. As the ice cleared for the zamboni and “All I Want for Christmas Is You” played in the background, he pulled her to center ice, got down on one knee, and asked her to marry him. They’ve grown not only in love, but in faith—deepening their Catholic roots and embracing the values that continue to guide them. Their Italian heritage remains a cherished foundation for their life together, reminding them of the beauty of family, tradition, and celebration. Now settled in Little Italy, San Diego, they’re so excited to return to the city where it all began and celebrate their next chapter with the people who mean the most to them.
