When Payton took a summer trip to Kentucky Lake he was looking to catch a buzz not a bride. But there he found Emily, who was enjoying the sandy shore line and serving up moonshine. Payton's big smile caught her attention as he walked by and she couldn't help but to call him over. They spent the weekend together, chatting and laughing over moonshine and age gaps. After that, they tackled a year of long-distance, Emily in Central Illinois and Payton in Chicago, before he took a leap of faith and moved south. Immediately they were met with the tragedy of Emily's father passing. This only ensured god put them together for a reason and among the tragedy grew an unbreakable bond.
