We will not be reserving a hotel room block; however, we have listed accommodation recommendations including several hotels in the Indianapolis area and suggested Airbnb/VRBO options.
If you're staying in downtown, we would recommend Uber as most events will be a short walk or Uber from where you're staying. The venue is a 20 minute Uber from downtown Indianapolis. If you decide to drive, parking will be available at the venue.
We'll be incorporating some Albanian music throughout both weddings and especially in Albania. If you're curious to learn some moves before, look up "Pogonishte Tutorial" or "Valle Dance Lesson" on YouTube for some examples.
We're having a secondary reception in Albania to celebrate with Olger's family who could not join us in Indianapolis. We're inviting everyone to both celebrations, but understand the complications involved with attending an international wedding. We would love if you could join us in both cities, but completely empathize if you can only pick one or even none. If you do decide to join us in Albania, definitely consider flying round trip to a different city in Europe (Barcelona, Paris, Rome, Athens, etc.) as all of these have relatively inexpensive connections to Tirana and it can be a great way to see more of Europe and lower your total costs.
The 2-3 days before the wedding, we'll be staying at Movenpick in Durres for some beach and pool time, then meeting in Tirana for a welcome dinner on Friday June 20th. Post-wedding, we'll be heading up to Theth in the Albanian mountains for a hike. Everyone is welcome to join us before and/or after, but we completely understand if you can only join for the reception. See the Travel tab for hotel listings and reach out directly to us if you have any questions.
That's amazing! We're very excited to have you! In terms of hotel, you have your choice of booking something local to the venue and airport (Royal Hill or Hotel Egnatia) or something closer to the center in Tirana (Rogner or Plaza). If you're only staying a day or two, we would definitely not recommend renting a car as Taxis are affordable and driving in Tirana can be stressful. Uber is not available, so you're best off staying at a Hotel which can coordinate Taxis for you.
