We first met in 2017 while in college at the Colorado School of Mines, introduced by a mutual friend and quickly bonded on a ski trip. Not long after, we went to Emily’s sorority semi-formal together, and by December we were officially dating. The following spring, Noah transferred to USC, and a year later Emily transferred to PCC and then UC Davis—kicking off over four years of long distance. Those years, filled with countless FaceTime calls and handwritten letters, laid the foundation for our relationship; one built on patience, laughter, and love, even when separated by 1000 miles. We discovered early on that we shared a love of trying new foods, exploring museums, and chasing adventures together. When Covid shut down school and Noah had to leave his USC RA position, he moved in with the Gray family, where he quickly became part of the household during the height of the lockdown. Noah eventually moved back to Colorado to finish school remotely, and Emily would visit Colorado whenever she had time. Over time, we grew to be a part of each other’s families, and made the long distance work the best we could. Over the years, we not only traveled to see each other, but also planned adventures together—journeys that took us from Hawaii to Alaska to Japan, creating memories and stories along the way. Eventually, we both found ourselves in Los Angeles post-graduation, where the “long-distance” got a little shorter, even if we were still on opposite sides of the city. In August 2024, we returned to Hawaii and, on a private beach on the Big Island, Noah proposed to Emily. We celebrated with a private dinner and flew to Maui the next day to enjoy our engagement. Soon after, we moved into our first apartment together in Old Town Pasadena, where we’ve loved exploring new restaurants and hosting friends and family. Now, we can’t wait to take the next step—getting married and celebrating with our closest friends and family in La Jolla! Our hearts are full knowing we get to celebrate this day with all of you by our side.
