Lighter fabrics like chiffon, crepe, or linen that are ideal for warmer weather and can still exude elegance while keeping you cool and comfortable throughout the festivities. Men should wear a jacket and tie.
Transportation from Hotels Shuttles will be provided between the hotels and the ceremony: - SpringHill Suites: Bus arrives around 2:10 PM, departs by 2:20 PM - Ravel Hotel: Bus arrives around 2:05 PM, departs by 2:15 PM We’ve assigned two bus leaders to help make sure no one gets left behind. If you are having day-of issues, please call/text Nick Weaver at 412-337-3176 (SpringHill) or Marsha Stamatakis at 412-302-7179 (Ravel), and they will hold the bus for a few minutes! Transportation to Reception All guests will be able to take the shuttles to the reception. We have asked a few guests to carpool with individuals who are driving--if we haven't asked you, take the shuttle. Post Reception Transportation Return shuttles to the hotels will depart from The Sanctuary at 9:50 PM and 10:50 PM. We’ll make an announcement during the party. If you are not heading to the hotels, the Roosevelt Island Red Bus is a free shuttle that runs every 15 minutes. Pick it up at the guest drop-off area (888 Main Street Stop) and ride to the Roosevelt Island subway stop (Subway Station East). You can also use Uber or Lyft — set 888 Main Street Stop as your pickup point (shuttle drop off location) to help reduce congestion in front of the venue.
Yes, and let me tell you! Both hotels offer paid parking, around 25-50 dollars a day. Both hotels are also located in areas where you could find nearby on-street parking, but you may have to search for a bit. The drive time between the hotels and church is 15-35 minutes, depending on traffic conditions. Please park at our designated parking garage if driving for the ceremony: - Icon Parking at 215 E 95th St, New York, NY 10128 - It’s prepaid — just let the attendant know you’re parking for Nick & Emily’s wedding - The garage is about a 6-minute walk to St. Francis de Sales Church If you will be driving and parking at this garage, let us know by May 17th (respond to link in your guest email or email us directly at stamason0508@gmail.com).
Yes! Everybody will be able to take the shuttles. We have asked a few guests who are friends with people who are driving to carpool. They should ride in cars, but everybody else can just hop aboard.
You can take the shuttle, but if you want to take two scenic, iconic transportation modes, there are two fun options. Option 1 - TAKE THE TRAM. 1. Take the 6 Train from 96th Street to 59th Street (7 minutes). 2. Walk to the Roosevelt Island Tramway on 2nd Ave (6 minutes). 3. Float over the East River (7 minutes). 4. From there, the Sanctuary is a 25 minute walk or quick ride on the free red shuttles. Option 2 - TAKE THE FERRY. Nick says the ferry is his 5th favorite part of living in New York City. The summer schedules have not been published yet, but we will confirm if this is a viable option as soon as the schedule is finalized. 1. Walk to the the 90th Street Ferry dock (25 minutes). 2. Take the Astoria Route to Roosevelt Island (15 minutes). 3. From the ferry stop on Roosevelt Island to the Sanctuary is a 25 minute walk or quick ride on the free red shuttles used by Roosevelt Island residents.

The Sanctuary on Roosevelt Island was previously a church, but was converted into an event space in 2019. We both love the location and hope you find it as magical as we do.
