In wedding speak, the dress code is semi-formal. We want everyone to be able to look and feel their best. The ceremony will be outside, so dress accordingly for that to be most comfortable. The reception will be inside, so you won't have to endure the North Carolina weather for very long.
Both. The ceremony will be outside as will be the cocktail hour. The reception and dinner will all be inside.
September in North Carolina could be a variety of weather outlooks. I highly suggest keeping an eye on the weather apps as it gets closer. In general, September is still a very warm month of the year. It could be rainy if the right weather rolls in. It could be nice and cool depending on cloud cover and wind. Luckily, this outside part of the wedding won't last super long. If weather does rain down on our parade (literally), we will move the ceremony inside, so don't worry about sitting out in the rain.
We want to keep these memories forever too! During the ceremony, we ask that you keep your phones tucked away. We have hired the amazing Connor Justice Photography to capture these sweet moments. Unplug for the ceremony to be in the moment with us, but after that feel free to snap away as we get the party started!
Yes, this will be an open bar. We want everyone to have a great time, but please be mindful. Plan for your trip home. No outside alcohol is allowed at our venue, so do not BYOB. There will be beer, wine and signature drink options.
After the ceremony, the immediate family of the couple will be taking pictures around the venue for about an hour. During this time, guests will be able to hang out and mingle at cocktail hour. After that, we will gather inside for dinner, dancing, and all those fun reception things. Please look at the schedule tab for more exact timing.
We are not providing any formal transportation for the wedding. The venue has a parking lot with ample room for all of our guests. Parking is free. Uber and Lyft are an option as well if that works best for you. Please stay safe and plan ahead if you are planning to drink. Designate a driver, use a ride service or carpool to keep our wedding a happy day!
We would love to have you join us for our special day! With your invitation, there will be an RSVP card that you can fill out and return. Please RSVP by August 18th, so we have time to prepare for everyone.
Yes, kids are welcome. We know weddings are not super exciting for all ages, so there are no hard feelings if the little ones choose not to come. Please let us know on your RSVP if the little ones will be joining or not.
Yes, if you head over to the Travel tab on the website, you will find the two hotels that we are working with for our guests. Please use those links to book as there is a discount for Brafford wedding guests. There are Airbnbs in the Mount Holly (Belmont, Charlotte, Gastonia, etc.) area as well if that is a better choice for you. Feel free to reach out and ask us about an area before you book if you do not know the area.
Yes, the venue is wheelchair accessible.
We are registered at Amazon, Target and Pottery Barn!
Kim Peeler (Emily's Mom) is the best person to reach out to if there are questions. If you don't have her contact information, reach out to Emily or Nick.
