Wedding Party

Not the people, the party. A guide through our relationship over time.

Yuengling

College (2009-2013)

Nathan grew up in Pennsylvania, but we both chose to go to college at Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. Freshman year found us as dorm room neighbors. Later in our college careers, we started dancing together and eventually dating. PA classic beer. Always available in Gettysburg's bars.

Port City - Optimal Wit

NoVA (2013-2015)

After graduation, Nathan moved to Northern Virginia for an actuarial job in Washington, DC. Emily followed a year later to pursue her masters in nutrition and food studies at George Mason University. Alexandria's oldest brewery was a short trip from Nathan's group house, with their best beer being a wit. In a tradition dating back to when the city was a major port, a pineapple outside means the party is on.

Courthouse Creek Cider: Varies

Richmond, VA (2015-2017)

We moved to Richmond in 2017 when Emily finished her masters degree and was offered a full-time position with Wegmans. For the first time, we were living together and discovering the charm a small city has to offer. Sharing an apartment, we started running more together, including our first (and Nathan's last) marathon. We also began fostering animals from the local shelter, something that has become a large part of our life together. During our time there, we found cider didn't have to be sweet and syrupy as found in most bars and national brands. Hope you enjoy it as much as we do.

Michael Shaps Wine

Charlottesville, VA (2017-2019)

After two years commuting from Richmond, we moved to Charlottesville. Situated between the Blue Ridge Mountains and Shenandoah National Park, this year was spent drinking wine, running up to Monticello, and exploring our national parks. We managed to complete a majority of the hikes in SNP southern district. Influenced by Thomas Jefferson, most Virginia wine is made in French styles and Michael Shaps is no exception. The two wines offered are the most popular Virginia styles, sometimes referred to as the unofficial wines of the state. Viognier (V-on-YAY) - Dry white Cabernet Franc - Slightly spicy red

Troeggs

Harrisburg, PA (2019-Present)

Moving back to Pennsylvania for Nathan's new job, we have continued building our life together. Runs on the Greenbelt and volunteering with the foster run organization Castaway Critters have helped keep us sane during wedding planning.
