We first met at a rehearsal for Tintamarre, the bilingual theatre troupe at Mount Allison University. We didn't think much of it at the time, as our story wouldn't really start for another few years...

We both participated in the 2016 "Tintamarrathon," a two-week touring show with over twenty performances in schools across New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. We got to know each other better, but it wasn't until the last day of the tour that Mitchell knocked on Emily's door with a mixtape in hand and asked her out.

We had planned to go back to visit New Brunswick over the holidays, but the Omicron wave of COVID-19 kept us stuck at home. After a mostly green December, a day of heavy snowfall left a thick blanket on the ground by the evening, and we decided to go for a walk. While strolling through a park near our apartment, Emily stepped off the path and bent down to write our names in the snow; when she stood up and turned around, Mitchell was down on one knee! We're so excited to celebrate the next chapter in our story with you.
