We thought it would be fun to take a trip down memory lane to revisit and celebrate the milestones and fun memories that have made our story so special.
From our first date on November 14, 2015 - nearly ten years ago - we've been inseparable. We've created far more memories than we could ever count, and it's so surreal that now we're counting down the days until we say 'I do'.

November 14, 2015 - We met in a public speaking class at Truman State University. Mikel says I pinned him by a dumpster for our first kiss... but my version is much sweeter (and less dramatic).

February 17, 2017 - Mikel adopted Winston at the end of 2016. Presently, Winston regularly exhibits stinky behavior, but we love him anyway!

August 21, 2017 - We were told we'd have visibility to see a total solar eclipse. As you can tell from the sky, we unfortunately just saw clouds.

We both graduated from Truman State University on May 11, 2019. Emily with a Bachelors in Business Management and a minor in Economics and Mikel with a Bachelors in Finance.

September 14, 2019 - We settled ourselves into a one bedroom apartment in Overland Park, KS.

October 22, 2020 - We've now started our tradition of taking a vacation at Lake of the Ozarks.
October 23, 2020 - Five years ago we explored the Bridal Cave at Lake of the Ozarks… and now I’m going to be a bride! Coincidence? I think not!
October 31, 2020 - I dressed up as Mikel for Halloween… and don’t feel bad if you can’t tell which one is the real Mikel!

April 2, 2022 - Traveling for work definitely has its perks! Mikel came up to New Jersey and we were able to enjoy a weekend away together in Philly!

December 3, 2021 - Amid the chaos of the pandemic, Mikel and I planted some roots and bought our first home! Our forever together began with a mortgage!

June 1, 2024 - Post pandemic we took what felt like our first real vacation. Our time in Maine was equal parts lobster rolls, time on the water, and some much needed relaxation.

December 21, 2023 - After 8 years of building our lives together, Mikel proposed. Patience truly is a virtue. All kidding aside, good things really are worth the wait!
