We met at Café Envie on Decatur street during my first time in New Orleans. My father Chris had a conference here and I had never been, so I decided to join him. Michael, who introduced himself as Sebastian, started passing around figs from a large ziploc bag to everyone in the café, (see picture of the original fig he gave me in the photos section!). I hadn't had a fig in years, so I turned back to tell him how good it was, and we got to talking and then went for a nice walk around the neighborhood. We made plans to meet the next day, but that night my mother Françoise decided to surprise me and my father by flying down. She had all these activities she wanted to do with me the next day, and I had to tell her I'd met someone. So Michael and my parents met the day after we met. A week later, I flew home to Montreal, with plans to meet him again in New York in ten days. So I met his family soon after, which was lovely and whom I love. Anyway, after a few years of flying back and forth, here we are. xoxo -Emily

We will be getting tested before the wedding, along with our families. We invite you to do the same if you are in a position to do so. If you are in New Orleans, many Walgreens are offering rapid testing for free with insurance (and possibly without), such as the one in Kenner and in Harvey, with an appointment made online a few days prior. Some other locations, including Urgent Care Eleven on St. Claude ((504) 324-7790) are offering the same.
