Since we met, things have been incredibly easy, and even the hard things have been surmountable when we’ve faced them together. When we met, it seemed like suddenly, we were ready to be loved. Milwaukee gave us so many things, but most of all, it gave us each other and no matter where our life takes us, Milwaukee will have a special place in our hearts. We’re making some pretty serious promises today, because we make each other better people; more vulnerable, smarter, braver—just… better. We challenge each other in so many different ways, I doubt we’ll ever get bored. We are elated from watching each other gain new experiences. We trust each other to never give up and never, ever stop asking for what we want or what we need. We love each other with a fierceness—a radicalness— that could never be mistaken for anything but the kind of love that lasts: enduring, stubborn, wild love. We stand here, making these vows of commitment to each other because the world is tumultuous and vast, but there’s no one else we would rather face every day with—the good, the bad, the endless in between—than with each other. We are here because looking into the uncertainty of the future: where we will live; how many pets will we have; what sort of careers we will embark on—all of it begins and ends with each other. I’m lovin’ you and you’re lovin’ me—and we vow to that, and so much more, for as long as we’re allowed to be here.
