In true Millennial fashion, Emily and Max met on a dating app. Their first date was Friday, September 1, 2017, and Emily had an "out" in case the date went badly: A Shiba Inu named Sega. The two ended up talking until the bar closed. A few days later, Max went over to Emily’s to watch the Season 3 finale of Twin Peaks. Sega seemed to like Max (not so much David Lynch), and two years to the day after their first date, Max, Emily, and Sega moved to Dumbo, Brooklyn.
