The Weaverville/Black Mountain/Asheville area has always been a special place to us ever since we took our first trip together as a couple here! Here are a few of our favorite spots to visit time and time again.
Yellow Mug Coffee Lounge
113 North Main Street, Weaverville, NC 28787, (828) 484-8844
Cute coffee shop right down the street from our venue! Serves drinks as well if you'd like to swap breakfast for brunch.
Come here to see some more local art and stay for an ice cream float at the retro soda counter.
Lexington Glassworks
81 South Lexington Avenue, Asheville, NC 28801, (828) 348-8427
Visit Lexington Glassworks to see stunning glass art as well as live glass blowing demonstrations! Em's parents had custom toasting glasses made for the wedding here.
The Dripolator Coffeehouse
221 West State Street, Black Mountain, NC 28711, (828) 669-0999
Look no further for the best cup of coffee in the area (and some delicious pastries too)!
Louise's Kitchen
115 Black Mountain Avenue, Black Mountain, NC 28711, (828) 357-5446
Excellent brunch, and the location of our rehearsal dinner! No reservations, so get there right when they open and try the Louise's Benedict (Em's favorite dish)!
Blue Ridge Biscuit Company
601 West State Street, Black Mountain, NC 28711, (828) 357-8501
Em and Matt's hot take: Blue Ridge Biscuit Company is better than Biscuit Head. Cash only!
Hike at DuPont State Recreational Forest
Staton Road, Cedar Mountain, NC 28718, (828) 877-6527
Looking to chase some waterfalls? DuPont State Forest has a moderate trail with three different waterfalls to view. Parking can be a little limited, but it's worth a visit! Stop at the DuPont Kanteen for ice cream afterwards!
Drive the Blue Ridge Parkway
3884 Blue Ridge Parkway, Asheville, NC 28803
Not into a longer hike? Drive the Blue Ridge Parkway and stop at the many overlooks there to see the Blue Ridge Mountains!
Picnic at Craggy Gardens
364 Blue Ridge Parkway, Black Mountain, NC 28711, (828) 298-0398
If you have time for a pit stop as you drive through the Blue Ridge Mountains, stop and have a picnic at Craggy Gardens. Panoramic mountain views and snacks are a winning combination!
Visit Max Patch at Sunset
NC 28743
Staying in the area for a while? Visit Max Patch at sunset for the best views of the Blue Ridge Mountains Matt and Em have ever seen! We also had our engagement pictures taken here.
