October 2022 Emily moved back to Mayfield with her daughter, Kinsley, settling into a house on Hawthorne Drive, just down the street from her parents. Initially planning for a quiet life, everything took a turn after just six months. January 2023 Emily’s first real interaction with Matt happened when he invited them to meet his dog, Luke. Kinsley adored Luke, and Emily found herself captivated by Matt’s smile. She immediately texted her mom, wondering how someone with such a smile could be single. March 2023 While playing outside, Kinsley chatted with Matt and mentioned her love for popsicles. Matt, ever thoughtful, went to get some for her. Emily was touched by his kindness and started to fall for him. April 2023 As the weather warmed up, Emily found herself spending more time outside, hoping for a chance to chat with Matt. He often drove his blue Camaro, which gave Emily the idea to ask for a ride. Their first date was an adventure: a drive in the Camaro, dinner at Yours Truly, a stop at Honey Hut, and six hours of great conversation. The next day, Emily sent Matt an Edible Arrangement and, nervous about the delivery, went to her parents’ house for dinner. When she returned, Matt had left a note with his phone number on her door. May-August 2023 Between May and August, Emily and Matt’s relationship blossomed. Emily supported Matt through his surgery recovery, and he was there every night to help put Kinsley to bed, often bringing dinners over. Despite some nerves, they both said “I love you.” Knowing their intentions were aligned, on August 28th, Matt asked Emily and Kinsley to move in with him. Then, he got down on one knee and proposed to Emily, also giving Kinsley a ring to ask for her approval to marry her mother. They were both more than ready for their happily ever after.
