God brought us together

Love is praying for each other before you even meet...

Hi! It's me Emily, and this is my side of our special love story. It all started with just a prayer. I remember praying so honestly and truthfully to our amazing God, and He didn't just listen. He gave me something that I didn't even know I needed until I met Major. I remember first meeting him at the park. The first thought that popped into my head was "Wow, this guy is so tall…and handsome." Little did I know that he had an amazing personality underneath all his good looks! Once we started talking, it was like an instant connection between the two of us. It's like God received my prayer, formed it into the man of my dreams, and then sent him back to me! We honestly talked about everything that day. We were so open with each other that it made me feel safe, as if we had known each other for the longest time. That same first day, as we continued talking and sharing more about ourselves, I told myself "Wow! This is the guy! This is the person I want to marry and spend my whole life with!" Of course, I didn't know that would fully happen until now, but God works in beautiful ways, and this truly is one I am so thankful for. Major is truly a Godly man. He has the best personality, and he always knows how to make me laugh with his cheesy jokes. He knows how to treat me with respect and care. He has so much love for God and always tries his hardest to be the best boyfriend, bestfriend, and soon-to-be husband that he can be. God truly did answer my prayers, and (as a bonus) it came in a hunk of a package.

The Gift

"Who can find a woman of worth? Far beyond jewels is her value." Proverbs 31:10

Hey, it's Major, and here is my side of meeting the woman made for me. I want you to imagine Emily and I meeting for the first time. Now what pops into your head? Me saying something charming like "out of all the stars in the sky, you are the brightest"? Me taking her out to dinner and trying to sweep her off her feet? Me buying her flowers and singing to her so I can win her heart? If you thought of any of these, you'd be wrong. Or at least close. When I saw her the first time, I was so surprised to see how kind she was. She was so willing to, not just talk, but also listen to me. Her beauty was unlike any other. Her bright brown eyes reflected the light of the sun, blinding me every time I tried to look at them. I was so eager to woo her that I did what any guy would have done…I asked her "is it weird if I want to hold your hand?" I know what you're thinking: "Wow, Major, reeeeeaal subtle." Fortunately, she had the right idea of how to grow in a relationship with me, and that was to not hold hands right away. And after that day, I learned more and more about her. I learned about her childhood, how she always wanted to see the world (especially Disneyworld), and how she loved the Lord above all else. Learning all of these amazing sides to her made me grow and grow in my longing to marry her. Seeing her joy whenever we go somewhere new or do something really fun is unlike any feeling I'll ever know. What most people don't know is that after getting to know Emily, I felt like I truly needed her. Before meeting her, I wasn't in the best relationships, and I was at a point where I asked the Lord to just simply bring me the woman that I was going to marry…and He did. He brought me a gift. A gift I can treasure for the rest of my life. A gift that continues to make me a better man every day. A gift that truly keeps on giving. A gift that I know now that I really needed in my life. I can't even begin to try and fathom how this omnipotent being, over hundreds of years, managed to plan Emily and I meeting for the first time. I asked for Emily, but He knew that already, from the very beginning, before I was even brought into the world. I will always be grateful for the gift that God has brought into my life, and I hope that, from the day of our wedding and onward, I can do everything in my power to show Him and the world how grateful I am.
