Our love story begins in 2019 at a Halloween party in the basement of a fraternity house. We didn’t cross paths again for about a month, but things slowly started to click. Our first hangout? I convinced Lorenzo to drive me to the Basilica in Milwaukee—because why spend 1.5 hours on a bus when you can get there in five minutes? 😉 After mass, Lorenzo asked me to be his date at his fraternity’s Christmas party! The party wrapped up the semester, and we didn’t see each other for another 6 months. I went off to study abroad in Madrid, Spain, and Lorenzo transferred to the University of Michigan. We were on completely different continents, but even with the distance, we never stopped talking. We discovered how much we had in common and our feelings for each other grew. In May of 2020, Lorenzo moved back to Milwaukee for a summer co-op, and we finally got to see each other again. That’s when we officially started dating, and from that point on it’s been one incredible adventure. Despite attending different schools in different states, we saw each other about once every two months. It wasn’t always easy, but with cheap flights and a love for traveling, we explored Poland, Spain, and 12 U.S. states! Fast forward to May of 2024, we went on a trip to Spain after I completed the didactic portion of my PA program. I wanted to visit my cousin in Madrid and Lorenzo was excited to see his sister in Valencia. Little did I know, that trip would be the one to change everything. We left the U.S. dating and returned engaged! Lorenzo proposed in the beautiful botanic gardens in Madrid, and now we’re counting down the days until we get to say “I do.” We’re so excited to start this next chapter together for many reasons, but especially because it’s the end of our 5.5-year long-distance journey! 💍❤️
