Emily had her first day at Walton's Fancy & Staple as the Assistant General Manager. I was on a trip to Colorado visiting my mother, before taking over the General Manager position. Little did we know, it would be the first day of the rest of our lives. After months working alongside one another, the opportunity happened! Emily finally asked me on a date... while eating a ham sandwich, in the middle of a meeting about food cost. I said no and she replied "I'll pick you up at 7" with her cute smirk. There was no turning back after that!
After our first date, we started writing to one another in a journal that was just thoughts and feelings between us. Months after, Emily asked me where the one place would be that I would like to experience together. I told her Bear Lake in Estes Park, Colorado. She planned a trip for us to go visit my mom in Denver later that year. The second day we were there, we went hiking at Bear Lake and I was still completely clueless as to what would happen next. I was taking a video of the scenery (if you have not been, you should definitely go!), Emily pulled our journal from her backpack and asked me to read it. I was so enthralled by the nature that I kept telling her no and to let me finish taking my video. She gave me one look and I knew I needed to read the journal. It was simple and to the point and said four words-- Will you marry me? SEE Y'ALL IN AUSTIN!
