It was just the average night at UW-Green Bay's Kress Events Center, but little did either of us know that at the Kress, we'd be meeting the person we'd end up marrying. Both Kyle and I played intramural sports, and that is what brought us together that evening. I was invited to play on a women's basketball team, and on that team were some girls Kyle was friends with. Kyle came to that game and tried to act as the coach, but he was in for a rude awakening. After I drained six 3-pointers in a row, Kyle was mesmerized... he thought, "I have to know this girl". After the game, the whole team went to half-off-apps at Applebee's, which was basically a must-do after Green Bay intramural sports. It was there, in Applebee's, that Kyle put on the charm. From that moment on, we both knew two things: that I could shoot better than Kyle, and that this was going to be something really special!
It was during the colorful, crisp month of October that Kyle and I decided to take a 4 year anniversary road trip to our favorite college weekend destination spot: Door County. On the trip, we stopped at all of our normal wineries and shops, but we had yet to go to OUR spot, which was the colorful art gallery out on a pier in Ephraim. This gallery is both beautiful and unique, with different names, dates, and drawings painted all over it. As we got closer to the gallery, Kyle started to get quiet... something most all of you know is a very rare thing for him! When we finally got to the gallery, I noticed a photographer standing there, and started to wonder if she was there for us. I told myself she wasn't, since Kyle had done such a great job of convincing me he wasn't going to propose that weekend, and I wrote it off. We walked up to the building and started to look at all the different artwork, as we always did. All of a sudden, while I was looking, Kyle turned me around, grabbed my hands, and got down on one knee. There, in front of our spot, Kyle asked me to be his wife, and I said yes!
