Emily and Kyle first met at the EDM music festival, Above and Beyond Group Therapy Weekender, at the Gorge Amphitheatre in Washington. They arrived in separate cars, coming from completely different places, and by pure coincidence ended up parking and camping next to each other. What started as a simple introduction between neighboring campsites quickly turned into easy conversation, laughter, and a long walk across the festival grounds to pick up wristbands. Somewhere along the way, Emily confidently claimed she had a great sense of direction… only to walk right past their campsite. Kyle just laughed and teased her about it the rest of the night. The next day, they headed into the amphitheater together. As the sun set over the cliffs and the Columbia River below, the music filled the canyon and the lights began to glow across the crowd. Standing there together, something shifted. In the middle of the music and the moment, Kyle kissed Emily, and neither of them quite felt the same after that. The festival ended, but their story didn’t.
