Our Story

Tale as Old as Time

As so many modern love stories, ours began with a swipe right. Well, a superswipe for Emily on Kory's Tinder profile. Kory was newly back in the US from living in Paris for a year and timing seemed to bring the two accounts together at the right time. They first met for coffee at Thou Mayest in their original Crossroads location before one of Emily's night shifts at the hospital. Kory had a new long beard and Emily had trouble finding him in the small shop, but thought the bearded guy by the door was pretty cute. After a handful of awkward eye contacts, she realized that he was Kory and thus started a long line of embarrassing moments for Emily. Within a few months Kory fell for Lucas and warmed up to Emily. The 3 began living together in Kory's Parkville home in February 2019, officially merged addresses in May 2019 and added a puppy, Owen to their family in June 2019. On August 23, 2019 Emily's friend Madison asked her to come help her take some photos of her and her son at the Parkville Nature Center and asked that Kory come along to help them locate the waterfall for the perfect shot. The four of them walked out to the waterfall, Emily put on her photographer hat and took photos of Madison and Atticus while Kory asked if Madison would take a photo in the same spot of him and Emily. As the two settled in position, Kory got down on 1-2 knees on the rocks and boulders and asked Emily to marry him. Of course Emily said yes and then had to wait a few minutes for her knees and the rocks beneath her to stop shaking to make it to solid ground. The two are thrilled to marry in October 2020 surrounded by their closest friends and family.

Change of Plans

7-21-2020

Through much thought and consideration, we have decided to postpone our marriage celebration to Fall 2021. We so look forward to hugging, dancing and having a blast with you all when it is safe to do so. However, we just can’t wait to become husband and wife and will be married in a private ceremony on our original date, October 10, 2020 at our family homes. We hope to share some pieces of this special day with you all at a later date.
