Question

What is a Handfasting?

Answer

A Handfasting is a ceremony symbolizing the binding of two souls or more simply; a marriage.

Question

How are we performing our handfasting?

Answer

We have chosen to use a form of handfasting practiced by Wiccans and those whom practice Magikal arts.  In Our Wiccan faith, Symbolism and Intent are powerful tools.  Our Intent is to bind our souls together for Eternity.  The Symbolism is in the Ritual, when we will be physically bound together.  We have chosen to do an extended handfast that began this past Halloween.  Our hands were bound by a rope we braided together to symbolize a Trial Binding. (The Engagement)  One year and a Day Later (10/31/20), We will all be gathered to witness the Permanent Binding of our Souls. (The Wedding)

Question

What is The Ritual?

Answer

This Ritual you will witness will involve our officiant Tessa helping us to cast a circle to contain the ritual energy. Your attendance will contribute towards the our Handfasting.  The Ritual will consist of us cleansing and creating a circle of pure energy and inviting the Goddess and the God, the Gods whom hold power over the elements of Earth, Air, Fire and Water, the Spirits of our Ancestors, and our Guests to witness to add their energy to the binding of our souls.  We are more than happy to answer any questions regarding the Ritual either before or after so don’t be afraid to ask.

Question

What should I wear to the wedding?

Answer

The wedding is outside at our favorite campground. Please dress accordingly, preferably in fall colors. Please do not wear black as the theme is Morticia and Gomez and the wedding party will be in darker colors.

Question

Why is the wedding at a campsite?

Answer

This campsite has significant meaning to our relationship. Camping and nature are both a huge part of our lives and we have been camping here for four and a half years.

Question

Where should I park for each event?

Answer

Please take note of the instructions that are listed on the update page (10/09/2020). There is parking by the bathhouse as well as overflow parking, please carpool if you can. DO NOT park on site 8 as the whole site will be blocked off for the wedding. Any events at The Mausner House: Please only park in guest spots, they are labeled. The complex is one way and there are plenty of spots that are a small walking distance from our townhouse.

Question

What are Cakes and Ale?

Answer

Cakes and Ale are used to celebrate the unification of two in a handfasting. The Ale is typically alcohol. However, we will be serving Apple Cider and Apple Juice.

Question

Is there a guest book?

Answer

Please make sure to write in our Book of Blessings. We would like a collection of our friends and familys words of wisdom and blessing towards our relationship.

For all the days along the way
