We met at the historic Galley Restaurant/Adelphia Music Hall in Marietta, Ohio. I was at my friend Carlos' work party upstairs and Justin was hanging out with some friends downstairs. Carlos went downstairs to use the restroom and ran into Justin for the first time. After talking to him for 10 minutes, he tells Justin, "Wait here! I have someone you need to meet." Carlos sprints upstairs to grab me and introduces us. We had so much in common and laughed the night away. We even laid out in the middle of one of Marietta’s infamous brick streets, just like they do in the movie: The Notebook. I knew he was just as crazy as me after that. The rest is history!

I invited Emily to my work conference in San Antonio, Texas; an old, romantic city. After a week of fancy parties, scootering around, and river walking, we finally had a night to ourselves. I made dinner reservations at the Tower of Americas, which happens to have a revolving restaurant at the top. After enjoying a full course meal with a 360-degree view of the city, I suggested going to the observation deck above. We elevator up to what seems like the top of the world and I ask a stranger to take our picture. Emily goes to pose beside me but finds me down on one knee retrieving the ring from my secret hiding place in my sock. I opened the box and popped the question. Emily is quick to comment first on the box, "OMG it lights up! How cool!" and then screams "YES!!" And just like that we're engaged :)
