First thing to do is locate and check the expiration date on your passport and renew your passport if it is expired. If you don't have a passport, you will need to take passport photos (usually at a local pharmacy) and submit by mail or in person. Turn around time can take a couple months for either of these tasks so best to do this first!
House Or Rental
Plan to fly in Saturday morning, April 22nd, to Mexico City International Airport. The wedding is Sunday April 23. Stay as many days as you wish but plan all your vacation activities AFTER the wedding. If you want to book a hotel or Airbnb, look in the gentrified safe neighborhoods of Roma Norte and Condesa. Make sure there are plenty of amazing reviews. You will want a comfortable home base to come back to after a long day. ONLY DRINK BOTTLED WATER and pack lots of your favorite snacks! Bring Tums and Pepto Bismol - Your stomach will thank you.
Flight
Input your flight details (Mexico City International Airport) into Kayak and toggle the Price Tracker ON. Kayak will send price alerts to your email when it is the best time to buy. Dynamic airline pricing penalizes you for planning too far ahead so this is a great way to book in advance for the best price. We suggest you purchase your flight several months in advance with a refund or cancellation policy should an unforeseen event arise.
Rental Car
Uber is super cheap and easy to use in Mexico City. The ride from the airport to your hotel in Roma Norte is about a $13, forty minute ride depending on traffic. All other rides within the city are around $5. If you don't have the Uber App, please be sure to download it and set it up in advance to traveling.
Travel Note
Be sure to contact your carrier to set up an international phone plan at least a week in advance to travel. There are other options such as purchasing an eSIM from a AirAlo. Contact your bank and let them know you will be traveling. Mostly all shops and restaurants take credit card and Apple Pay.
Travel Note
Roma Norte is the center of Mexico City's culinary and artistic zeitgeist and home to an increasing number of young professionals. Its leafy central avenue, Avenida Álvaro Obregón, is lined with eclectic eateries, sidewalk bars and refurbished mansions, one of which houses Casa Lamm cultural center. Foodies descend on Mercado Roma for cool international food stalls, and street art lines the avenues. La Condesa consists of wide, tree-lined avenues, stately art nouveau mansions and well-maintained art deco apartment buildings give this neighborhood a distinctly European vibe. Locals walk dogs in shady Parque España and young professionals browse the fashions in cutting-edge boutiques. Stylish sidewalk cafes, trendy international bistros and casual taquerias dot the area. At night, posh bars and clubs fill with a younger crowd.

Casa Xipe, pronounced Casa shee-pey, means the home to the aztec god of planting and sowing. This gorgeous event garden is located in the heart of Coyoacán, an oasis in the middle of the city. Ideal for holding social and corporate events in a unique space, surrounded by majestic trees, wooden verandas and its central patio. It is meant to feel like a hacienda transporting you out of the city into the Mexican countryside. The dance floor is laid brick so wear comfortable footwear or a chunky heel. The weather should be lows of 50 and highs of 72 degrees. I will be arranging transportation to and from the venue but uber is always an easy option.
