Yes you read that right! This love story began with “Hey what’s up?” We met online on OkCupid! and Joey's first message to me was "Hey what's up?" Truthfully we had an instant connection! We met for the first time and went on our first date on July 22, 2017 and we talked for so long in the restaurant the waiter finally said when we were ready to order or needed something to flag him down as he didn't want to keep interrupting us. We talked for hours that night at dinner. Funnily enough on the drive to the restaurant (he was a total gentleman and picked me up and opened the car door for me!) I was worried it was going to be awkward and when Joey laughed for the first time I couldn't believe someone could laugh like he does! By 10 minutes into the car ride I was laughing and smiling and already feeling like I had known him for years. After dinner, we went to Ralph's Italian Ices and sat on a bench talked and ate our ices. I was hoping he would kiss me but he never did so I leaned in and kissed his cheek! I remember coming home from that date and texting my friend Jackie that this felt very different (in a good way!) Our second date, July 25, 2017, Joey took me to Brooklyn for lunch and when we got back home to my house and sat on my couch he asked me to be his girlfriend of course I said yes, he gave me a kiss and then had to go back home to Queens. From that moment on we were boyfriend and girlfriend and now fiancées. Cut to July 20, 2024, Joey proposed with some of our closest family and friends around in my backyard. He had been planning this since March and was able to keep it from me! He had so many plans going on in the background and I am so impressed with how he pulled it off! He started with a speech on how thankful he was that we could all get together and how we don't do it nearly often enough. He then turned to me, grabbed my hands, and gave the most beautiful speech I have ever heard. He ended it with "I have just 7 more words for you, Emily Ann Rossi, will you marry me?" It was absolutely perfect. So here we sit 7+ years later getting ready to upgrade to husband and wife!
