Ponce City Market
If you like to shop or check out a cool food market - this is the place for you! For shops - check out Citizen Supply (really cool Atlanta made goods) and for food - try El Super Pan (excellent Cuban sandwiches), King of Pops (Atlanta popsicles), and Spiller Park Coffee (try the chai tea & avocado toast). You can pay for parking here or get here by walking on the Beltline!
Atlanta BeltLine Eastside Trail
Walk from Piedmont Park all the way to Krog Street Market (or vice versa) on a paved trail. This is one of the best places to people watch in Atlanta! Look out for Ponce City Market, New Realm Brewing, Old 4th Ward skate park, Pour, Butter and Cream, and Shake Shack on your way! We suggest walking and not biking!
Colony Square
Colony Square is an arts and food district in the heart of Midtown. It boasts a food market (Politan Row), a movie theater, a nail salon, and some wonderful restaurants (Rumi's Kitchen, Sweetgreen, and 5Church Midtown).
Piedmont Park
If you come to Atlanta, you have to walk around Piedmont Park. They have many trails, open green spaces, & even a dog park - think mini Central Park!! This is where Jon loves to play ultimate frisbee on Saturday mornings when he isn’t playing pickleball!
Superica
RUN, don't walk, this has the best mexican food in the city. Okay, Little Rey is great too, but they are owned by the same people. Try their margaritas, salsa, tortillas, fajitas, etc. You can't make reservations, but it is worth waiting. This is at Krog Street Market so explore the market while you wait and get Jeni's Ice Cream or Butter and Cream for dessert.
Victory Sandwich Bar
Are you a ping pong player? Have you ever had a Jack and Coke Slushy? Victory has both! Located in Inman Park, Victory Sandwich Bar is a great hangout for lunch or later. Jon and Emily have had some epic ping pong battles here.
Barcelona Wine Bar
Want the best tapas, sangria, and bread in Atlanta - here it is! Jon & Emily went to Barcelona for their first Valentine’s Day as a couple. This is located in the fun Atlanta neighborhood, Inman Park! Make reservations if you want to eat dinner here!
Krog Street Market
Want a smaller food market in Atlanta? Try Krog Street! It has many food stalls, Jeni’s ice cream, and a great beer store. It also houses the best Mexican restaurant in Atlanta - Superica! Explore the area around Krog that is a part of the beltline or check out The Merchant which is a great place to buy a fun gift to bring home from Atlanta.
Jackson Street Bridge
Emily’s favorite view in all of Atlanta. She’s spent time here talking with God about big decisions and frankly it’s the best skyline view of the city. Try to hit this view at sunrise or sunset! Park close to the bridge and walk up!
Bread & Butterfly
The cutest little French breakfast place in Inman Park. The best pancakes and omelet in Atlanta - no lie, those pancakes melt in your mouth. If you don't want to wait to sit down and eat, grab a pastry and a coffee to go.
New Realm Brewing Co.
Want a rooftop brewery in with a skyline view? This is it! Walk the beltline to New Realm or drive there and park, you won’t be disappointed!
Academy Coffee
A "warm hug" tucked in the neighborhood of Virginia Highlands. Great coffee, other fun lattes, and breakfast sandwiches. Not great seating inside, but a delicious breakfast or mid morning stop.
Atlanta Westside Presbyterian Church
This is where we go to church! If you aren't exhausted from our wedding and want to go to a great church on Sunday morning they have a 9am and 11am service. Tell the Head Pastor, Walter, that you know us! If you are looking for another church on Sunday morning in Atlanta, just ask! If you go here on Sunday, hit up The Works afterwards or Star Provisions for lunch.
Stone Mountain Park
This is where Jon proposed & where we went on our 2nd date (in which Jon asked Emily if she wanted kids LOL)! Depending on weather, this is a good hike up a “big rock” with a great 360 view of Atlanta. It’s about a 25 minute drive from the city, but for sure an Atlanta staple.
