Due to some concerns expressed by close family we have decided to to limit our guests to close friends and family. This means we are inviting some close family, and our closest friends who were already a part of the bridal party. Once we have a better idea of the safest way to celebrate with every one, we will be sending out invites for the big celebration. Thank you so much for supporting us and being understanding during this strange time. We are also asking that you bring a mask and wear it when you are unable to socially distance. We will be distancing the chairs and tables. If you have any concerns please reach out. Love, Jonas and Emily
Sometime around 2005, Jonas' and Emily were introduced. Emily and her sisters were the only kids in their neighborhood, Jonas and his siblings were visiting their grandparents who had a cabin there. And thus their friendship was born. They spent many summers with their siblings in the tiny town of Parks AZ, playing games of pretend and riding their bikes. As they all grew older, they connected over FaceBook. Emily and Jonas were really the only ones who kept in touch and talked with each other often. They quickly became best friends and talked often. In 2013 Emily's family moved to Southwest Missouri. Jonas and Emily weren't able to talk as much due to being in high-school (and the time difference) but they still connected with each other when possible. In the summer of 2015, Jonas admitted to having some feelings for Emily. While she told him she didn't feel the same at that moment, she spent a lot of time praying and sorting out whether or not her love for him was platonic or romantic. After a long conversations and some prayer, they decided to essentially start a courtship that fall. In 2017 they both graduated high-school. Emily went to work full time and Jonas moved from his parents home, to Prescott AZ where he attend Embery Riddle Aeronautical University. On May 17th, 2018 Jonas was given permission to ask Emily to officially be his girlfriend. They were absolutely over the moon. At this point there had been talk about getting married someday, as that had been the goal from the start. However, they knew they needed to no longer be long distance, which meant Emily was going to move back to Arizona.
On December 31st, 2019 Emily's family packed the last of her things and they all loaded up to make the drive to her new city. 2020 began Emily's new life in Prescott. Going from living 1,200 miles apart to 0.5 miles apart was an adjustment, and one that they greatly enjoyed. They were nearly inseparable after her move, only separating when work, school, sleep or family called them away. When COVID-19 hit they didn't have to make many changes, they were already homebodies. However it did mess with Jonas' plans to propose that summer so he ended up landing on plan C.
Due to a few setbacks (a big one being COVID-19) Jonas wasn't able to propose until the day before Emily's birthday. Jonas had asked that they go on a picnic date the day Emily got back from working out of town. She was definitely suspicious but tried not to get her hopes up in case she was wrong. Jonas tried to play it off as a pre-birthday celebration date. After a short hike and a picnic, Jonas wanted to take pictures with the flowers he had given her as a "early birthday surprise". They packed up their picnic and walked over to a bench that had become their spot at the park. He set his phone up to take some pictures and when the time came, began recording instead. There were many tears during his proposal and when he finally asked, "Will you marry me?" Emily's response was "Of course!" The following announcement was met with exclamations of "Finally!" and "About time!" They were over the moon.
