John and Emily met in September of 2017 while both freshman at the Ohio State University. They met at a party and the rest is history, but if you ask them, they have different versions of that night. If you ask John, he’ll say he and Emily met at a party freshman year and they hit it off while talking. She told him that she was going to get another drink and never came back. John says that she wasn't interested in him even though he was interested in her. If you ask Emily, she'll say that they met at a party and it was very hard to keep the conversation flowing. Emily would keep asking John questions but it was like pulling teeth! So, she told him she was getting another drink and didn’t come back, because SHE thought he was not interested in her. For those who know John, you know he’s a little shy at first, and even though they didn’t talk again that night, they rekindled their conversation in January of 2020. This time around John was more talkative. They soon figured out how close they lived to each other back at home in Akron—7 minutes! Then Covid hit and the only fun activity left to do during a lockdown was hiking. They hiked every chance they could and eventually said I love you for the first time a few months later at the Nature Realm. Five years later, John proposed at the same spot! Throughout the last 6 years, John and Emily have graduated from OSU and still love visiting campus and reminiscing on the first 2 years of their relationship as Buckeyes. Emily is a preschool teacher while John studied for three more years at grad school and graduated with his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Walsh University. He is currently working as a physical therapist at the Cleveland Clinic in Dover and they moved into their first apartment in November 2024. John and Emily also love sharing their "invisible string" of both attending the same Drivers Ed classes on Saturday mornings in Cuyahoga Falls in 2014, but not figuring this out until 3 years into their relationship! We are so excited to begin our lives together and thank everyone for celebrating with us on our big day! XO Emily & John
