'Twas the night before St. Patrick's Day and we were both out and about in the West Village. Little did we know we would run into someone who became more than a stranger that night. As Frank Sinatra put it, "Two lonely people, we were strangers in the night up to the moment when we said our first hello, little did we know." After bumping into each other we immediately knew we had a connection. Our first date felt like we were kindred spirits and every date since then, we grew more excited about building a future together. Fast forward a few years after thousands of miles traveled together across the world or just a few hundred feet down the street from our apartment, we are so grateful to be tying the knot in Chicago. We took our first trip together as a couple to this majestic city and it holds a special place in our hearts, and now forever will. Emily graduated from DePaul University, where we will be getting married in the beautiful St. Vincent de Paul Church on campus. We are looking forward to celebrating with all of our family and friends. Thank you for being a part of our special day 🤍
A few things about us to understand why we chose to celebrate at Chicago Winery. We are adventurers who love to travel. In just a few years of dating we have traveled to many countries and countless cities. Chicago felt like the perfect city to have our friends and family gather because it is a destination, while also being accessible - and the most important thing to us, above all, was having all our family and friends present to celebrate with us. Not to mention, you can’t beat Summertime Chi! We are total foodies. To say each trip we take revolves around food is an understatement. We enjoy each and every dining experience and sometimes are already talking about the next one before even finishing our current meal. Chicago Winery’s Head Chef, Andrew Graves, is an alumnus of Tribeca Grill and Alinea. If you’ve scrolled Chicago Winery’s website, you’ll see the exquisite dishes he is plating that we are so excited for our guests to experience. With food, comes wine. And we both love a glass of vino! We have a history with wineries and are looking forward to continuing our travels to more throughout our marriage. We cannot wait to toast our guests with Chicago Winery’s wine. Winemaker, Erik Subrizi, sources grapes from esteemed growing regions across the U.S. and handcrafts all wine in-house, handling everything from grape crushing to bottling. We are passionate about live music. Just these past few months, we attended two! Bruce Springsteen concerts for the Jersey in John (and Emily by association), and spent Valentine’s Day at UBS Arena for Emily to see her favorite female artist and Gypsy, Stevie Nicks. The Bluewater Kings Band will be jamming all night at our reception and keeping the energy high on the dance floor. We are still trying to convince John to dust off his old Sax and join the band, but we might just let the brass section do their thing. Bring your dancing shoes and get ready to groove!
