Joel took Emily to watch the sunrise at the jetties, where he asked her to be his girlfriend almost two years prior. He began reading her a story from the Bible & discussed the importance of a Christ-centered marriage. This should've been a point of suspicion for Emily, but these topics of conversation were typical from Joel, so she was still unfazed. He then stood her up & read a heartfelt letter. When Emily realized where this was going, she was in shock. She exclaimed, "No! ... I mean, yes, but ... no!" & laughter followed.
