We met at our "Safety Day" work event. Emily spotted Jerrod in his cowboy hat and got super curious. I remember saying to myself "who is that guy " "I have to meet that guy." "Well if I'm supposed to meet him he will introduce himself because I'm not introducing myself." At the very end of the event I was talking to a friend and out of the corner of my eye I saw Jerrod lock his eyes on me and he started walking right towards me. I was panicking internally. He introduced himself and started asking me detailed questions about my education and career path. I was inspired by his excitement and passion for life, education, and his career. We had an immediate strong connection and from there it began to grow rapidly.
It was a Tuesday afternoon and Jerrod sent me a text, "we have reservations at Visconti's in Leavenworth at 7:30 tomorrow night." Leavenworth is a special town to us and we travel there often. The trees and mountains bring us peace. It's almost 2 hours away so I thought it was odd to go there on a weeknight. Que, Emily gets suspicious and thinks Jerrod has something up his sleeve, but goes along with it because she doesn't want to ruin the surprise. We arrived in Leavenworth on Wednesday evening and started walking to the restaurant. As we passed by the town pavilion, Jerrod said we should get a picture here. He asked a nearby tourist to take our picture and then he said, actually can you take a video and proceeded to lead me inside the pavilion. Anyone that knows me knows I do not like to be on camera or in the spot light so I'm behind him asking what are you doing? What are you doing? knowing what was about to happen. Then Jerrod got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. It was surreal and exciting and I said YES! We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you. See you in Puyallup!
